A New Way
to Augment Psychotherapy

STx turns therapy into an immersive journey. Emotional complexity is transformed into a shared
tactile language, designed to support real clinical work

The four foundations of becoming an STx Practitioner

STx VR Platform

Advances in neuroscience and virtual reality demonstrate how therapy can be more sensory, engaging, and aligned with how people think, feel, and learn .

STx integrates neuroaesthetic principles and non-linear, associative design research to enhance cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation in clinical practice .

A space patients can shape

STx offers patients a space they can shape and take ownership of, something many rarely experience in everyday life. It provides a multisensory environment designed for reflection, where they can safely build and explore a dynamic visual mind map of their challenges, relationships, and goals

Therapy that sticks

STx allows patients to anchor meaningful moments of therapy, return to them and continue to build on and integrate them over time. Therapist and patient work together in this shared space, revealing key patterns and connections, guiding deeper insights and meaningful change

Informed by data, shaped
by practice

We integrate key outcome measures with this to ensure the experience is clinically informed and continue developing the STx approach. The STx approach is currently being trialled as part of a clinical research study in conjunction with Monash University

STx isn’t a new school of therapy – it’s a flexible toolkit

STx Clinical Program

An evidence-based framework you can adapt to your modality and workflow. The STx Clinical Program is based on a Psychodynamic Psychotherapy approach and delivered over 20-sessions. It meets the Australian Medicare rebate requirements while making full use of the STx VR platform’s unique capabilities.

Use multisensory expressions and symbols to comprehensively visualize psychological history and treatment goals

Generate interactive mind maps to map out challenges, relationships, goals and values while learning to manage distress through thought diffusion exercises and VR sensory-based grounding techniques

Assess emerging themes and analyse changes to the fluid mind mapping models, draw and visually represent inter-relationships between challenges, relationships and goals, develop symbolic representation of strategies for meaningful and lasting change

Reflect and consolidate records, create a therapeutic letter summarising achievements and gain a permanent 3D mind map as a resource to preserve your insights for future growth
